Peterborough’s affordable housing situation dominated city council’s meeting Monday night.
Numerous people spoke up about the current situation including Joanna Bazak-Brokking, Occupational Therapist at Peterborough Regional Health Centre.
Later in the meeting, council voted to approve up to $900,000 to assist with the purchase of a building that would expand a local shelter’s available space. Council also voted to waive taxes on the 12-unit building near the corner of Water Street and Parkhill Road for 10 years.
