With many confused about the future of the so-called ‘Tent City’, the City of Peterborough has issued a statement.
Acting CAO Cynthia Fletcher said in the release enforcing the by-laws will start with efforts to inform, educate and assist those living in the park until any further measure is taken.
She adds that the health and safety of all involved, both tenters and support workers, as well as regular park users, is always top of mind.
Currently there are on average 30 available shelter beds each night.
