In celebration of Mitch Marner re-signing with the Toronto Maple Leafs for another 6 seasons, Extra 90.5 has changed its name to Marner 90.5 FM for the weekend.
On Friday night, Marner inked a deal with the club for just under $11M per season.
Program Director Graham Elliott says “As Peterborough’s home of Toronto Maple Leafs hockey, we’re excited that Mitch had decided to return to Toronto. Mitch’s future with the Leafs has certainly been one of the most talked about stories in Canadian sports this summer. With Marner rejoining Tavares, Matthews, and Nylander, along with the acquisition of players like Codi Ceci and Jason Spezza, this could be one of the most exciting seasons of Maple Leafs hockey in years.”
The Maple Leafs first overall pick in 2015 scored 26 goals last season, and had 68 assists.
