Much of the talk of the sporting world this week has been centred on the NBA championship rings presented to the Toronto Raptors.
There is a Peterborough connection to the pieces of jewellery.
Peterborough-native Jim Cooper is an Account Executive at Baron Rings, the Canadian company that did the design. He says it was actually a Raptor that chose the design.
Cooper says that there’s a lot of symbolism that reflect their season.
Each ring features more than 640 diamonds, as well as 16 rubies to signify the amount of playoff wins it took to win the title.
