You can now drop-off textiles at the city’s recycling facility and landfill.
Textiles bins are in place at both locations on Pido Road and Bensfort Road through a partnership with Diabetes Canada, which regularly collects items, such as used clothing, from the bins for reuse opportunities.
Officials say the diversion of clothing and other textiles from landfill greatly assists the city with the community effort to reduce waste.
Studies have shown that textiles represent up to 5 per cent of residential waste generated by the residential sector across North America.
