Peterborough Petes goaltender Tye Austin has signed an amateur tryout with the Belleville Senators of the American Hockey League.
Austin has posted an 11-14-0-1 record with an .875 save percentage over two seasons with the Petes. The Petes say he will return to Peterborough when the OHL season starts. The Pembroke-native says he’s been working hard during an extended layoff because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and that he’s excited to show off progress to Belleville.
The Belleville Senators are the AHL affiliate for the Ottawa Senators.
