Peterborough’s Mayor has told a federal party leader to stay home.
Earlier this week, reports surfaced that People’s Party of Canada Leader Maxime Bernier would be joining independent Ontario MPP Randy Hillier in an anti-lockdown protest at Peterborough City Hall this weekend.
Peterborough Mayor Diane Therrien took to Twitter last night saying ‘Hey Randy Hillier and Maxime Bernier, I know you boys are bored but’ before sharing a selfie with a text bubble saying ‘stay tf home’.
Bernier responded this morning on Twitter, saying ‘Dear Madam Mayor of Peterborough, Canada is my home.’ with the hashtag #NoMoreLockdowns.
Protests at City Hall have grown each Saturday in recent weeks locally, while Peterborough Police have pressed charges to some attending the rallies.
