COVID-19: PRHC prepared to help alleviate stress on other regions

As intensive care units across Ontario continue to fill up, Peterborough Regional Health Centre is helping out wherever they can.

Chief of Staff Dr. Lynn Mikula says they’ve seen an influx in patients from other regions.

She says the ICU numbers in Ontario are tough to gauge because the correlation between cases and ICU statistics aren’t always at the same time.

Mikula adds that staff are tired, but know they’re helping a lot by being accomodating to residents from other areas. Peterborough currently has 81 active cases of COVID-19, after 11 new cases were reported by health officials yesterday.
