Maryam Monsef is taking heaps of criticism following a comment made during a news conference.

Social media was flooded almost immediately with many suggesting the term was inappropriate, while Conservative leader Erin O’Toole says the language used by the Trudeau government was ‘completely unacceptable’.
In her defence, Monsef says many Muslims refer to each other as brothers and sisters and that her remarks do not represent any softening of Canada’s position.
