It was a rough second game of the OHL preseason, falling 9-2 to the Kingston Frontenacs last night at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
A fast start by Kingston led them to a 5-0 lead after 20 minutes. Head Coach Rob Wilson says they had some bad stretches where the game got away from them.
5-0 would remain the score until Justin DeZoete put the Petes on the board for his first tally of the preseason halfway through the third period. Jack Falkner added the second goal for the Petes with just over two minutes remaining, and says being able to represent his hometown on the ice is exciting.
Coach Wilson says there will be some harsh learning curves with such a young team.
The Petes travel to Sudbury today for a 7:05 matchup against first-overall pick Quentin Musty and the Wolves, before returning to the PMC for a Thursday matchup with the Sarnia Sting.
