Liberal Leader Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made a campaign stop in Peterborough Saturday, just two days before Canadians will head to the polls for a federal election.
Peterborough-Kawartha MP Maryam Monsef was among a number of candidates at the rally for Liberal Party supporters at the Peterborough Naval Association, and says Trudeau has supported this region since he was first elected back in 2015.
Trudeau to this point is the only federal leader in the 2021 election that has held a rally in the riding. Also on hand at the rally were Northumberland-Peterborough South candidate Alison Lester, Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock candidate Judi Forbes, and Scarborough-Southwest MP Bill Blair.
Also running locally against Monsef are Conservative Candidate Michelle Ferreri, Joy Lachica of the NDP, Chanté White of the Green Party, the People’s Party of Canada’s Paul Lawton, and independent Robert Bowers.
