The COVID-19 pandemic has been stressful on the shelter system in Peterborough, which is why more than $52,000 has been invested in the YES Shelter for Youth and Families for mental health challenges.
Interim Executive Director Aimee Le Lagadec says it’ll help with a quickly increasing issue.
MPP Dave Smith says this funding is important for the work YES shelter does, especially dealing with youth clients.
All in all, the funding included Mental Health First Aid for all staff, Natural Support Connection training provided by A Way Home Canada, and the development of an organization-wide wellbeing strategic plan.
