Two people have been charged after a traffic stop on Saturday night.
Peterborough Police says around 8:30pm, officers saw a near-miss crash near George and Simcoe and stopped one of the vehicles as a result. After learning the driver was suspended, police say he allegedly tried to escape.
A loaded handgun and cocaine was found on the driver, while the passenger was also arrested and had a spring-loaded knife.
As a result, 20-year-old Tyreek Powell and 20-year-old Aaliyah Abdalla, both from Toronto, have been arrested and charged.
