Mason McTavish is coming back to the Peterborough Petes.
McTavish, who was the third overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, played nine games in the NHL this season with the Anaheim Ducks, registering 2 goals and 1 assist.
Had McTavish played a tenth game, it would’ve burned a year of his entry-level contract. In his last season with the Petes in 2019-2020, McTavish scored 29 goals and had 13 assists in 57 games before the season was halted because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The team said McTavish is expected to suit up this coming Thursday when the Petes host the North Bay Battalion. In the meantime, Haven Brewing Company Peterborough Petes Hockey on FREQ 90.5 is on the air tonight when the Petes visit the Ottawa 67s, puck drop is scheduled for 2:00pm.
