Budget deliberations are in the books for another year and the all-inclusive tax increase is now higher than originally planned.
Council is currently looking at a 2.87 per cent hike and not 2.75.
The increase would equal an annual increase of $47.09 or a monthly increase of $3.92 per $100,000 of residential assessment.
Part of the increase includes an additional $60,000 being spent on hiring a doctor recruiter for a total of just over $81,000.
Consultant for Your Family Health Team Maria Gomez gave a presentation to the finance committee and informed councillors that 11,000 people in the region are without a family doctor currently.
The financial plan will also include $70,000 hiring someone to help marginally housed people downtown.
The 2022 budget will go up for final approval on December 13th.
