If you were listening to Haven Brewing Company Peterborough Petes hockey earlier this week on FREQ 90.5, you might have noticed something a little bit different.
Katrina Squazzin joined Stew Kernan on the broadcast team, as far we could tell, making her the first female broadcaster to serve as a radio colour commentator for a Petes game.
Squazzin, who is also well-known for being a videographer with Global Peterborough, says she is super excited to give her perspective on the OHL to listeners.
Rob Mise is the Vice-President of Content Development with My Broadcasting Corporation, the parent-company of FREQ 90.5. He says this addition to the broadcast is a very cool step forward for the station and the league.
Mise adds that the role of colour commentator is all about storytelling, something Katrina does incredibly well.
You can catch Squazzin in action again next when Peterborough plays at home on Family Day against Barrie. That broadcast begins at 2 p.m.
