Former Petes play-by-play commentator nominated for Canadian Screen Award

A familiar name has been nominated for a major award.

Rob Snoek is up for Best Sports Play-by-Play Announcer at the Canadian Screen Awards for his work during last summer’s Tokyo Olympics.

Snoek, who was the radio voice of the Petes for several seasons, says the recognition came as a real shock.

He says his 15-years broadcasting in the OHL has prepped him well for many different Olympic events.

Snoek is now off to be apart of international coverage of the Beijing Paralympics.
