The second annual Trent Day was a resounding success from a number of aspects.
Associate Vice President of Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement Sherry Booth says almost 1.2-million dollars was raised to support Trent University student spaces and financial aid.
In addition, over 1000 pounds of food was collected to help support Kawartha Food Share. Booth says this is a cause that’s important to the community here in Peterborough.
Trent Day is an annual event that marks the April 1963 signing of the Trent Act, which formalized the incorporation of the University as a degree-granting institution. It also pays tribute to the University’s history, values and community. It’s celebrated locally in Peterborough as well as in Durham, and by alumni around the world.
