The Peterborough County OPP is investigating a fatal accident after a female was struck by a tree in North Kawartha Township.
At around 6 pm last night (May 21st), Peterborough County OPP and emergency services responded to a residence on Highway 28 in North Kawartha Township.
Police say one person was struck by a fallen tree as a result of last night’s storm.
A 64-year-old female from Cornwall was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Members of the public are being advised to take caution around (and avoid close proximity to) any trees that may have been damaged by the storm- even if there is no visible sign of damage.
