Thousands of Trent University students have walked across the stage this week to celebrate convocation.
Vice-President External Relations & Development Julie Davis says it’s a great atmosphere on campus.
This almost marks the first ever graduating class for a number of programs at Trent, as Davis explains.
The 2022 graduating class features over 2400 students from both the Peterborough and Durham campuses, while some members of the 2020 and 2021 graduating classes will be celebrated next week on Monday and Tuesday.
During this year’s ceremonies in Peterborough and Durham, the University will also bestow honorary degrees upon six social changemakers, recognized for their extraordinary contributions to society as a whole.
In Peterborough, honorary degrees will be awarded to:
· Dr. Muriel Miguel, choreographer, director, actor and “grandmother of Indigenous theatre”
