Electric City FC’s men’s and women’s teams will both be taking part in a new cup challenge, starting tonight at Fleming College.
The Trent-Severn Cup will be contested between ECFC and Barrie-based Simcoe County Rovers FC, and will be awarded to side with the highest combined score between the men’s and women’s games. If the score after the two matches remains tied, the competition will then be decided by a penalty shootout in the second match.
The Cup was purchased by the two local soccer districts, ECOSA (East Central Ontario Soccer Association) and Huronia District Soccer.
Both organizations are in their first season of play in League 1 Ontario. Tonight, the women will host Rovers FC at 8:00pm, while the men’s game is slated for July 23rd, also at Fleming.
