Celebrations for Peterborough’s 150th anniversary of lacrosse are ramping up over the next few weeks, and kicked off with a letter from the Prime Minister himself this week.
Organizer Tim Barrie says they were glad to get the letter, after inviting the PM to visit.
Barrie says up until Canada Day will feature lots of special events.

Thurs, June 23: Major Lakers Game – the subjects of Ed Arnold’s book, the 1974 PCOs’ perfect season will be recognized with many of the 1974 undefeated team members attending
Fri, June 24: Peterborough Lakers’ Alumni Golf Tournament at Keystone golf club. Noon shotgun.
Sat, June 25: Sr B Game vs Six Nations at 7PM
Sun, June 26: Jr C Game, Cornwall at Healthy Planet
Mon, June 27: Jr A Game against Whitby at PMC
Tues, June 28: PMLA Day, both arenas
Wed, June 29: Boro Boys Seasonal Lacrosse presents “Cradle for Special Olympics” fundraiser at 7 p.m. twith members of the senior Lakers playing a Dream Team of Educators and Boro Boys
Thurs, June 30: every game of Century 21 Lakers will continue to honour a facet of Peterborough’s lacrosse history or the community
Fri, July 1: Canada Day Parade Float
