City council has endorsed approving in principle a new Peterborough Airport Master Plan.
A presentation was made to councillors, outlining short, medium and long-term priorities for the next 15 years.
Infrastructure expansion in the short term, includes extension of Taxiway Bravo and continued preparation of the East Development Area at an estimated cost of $6 million and $12.5 million respectively.
Overall, the new Master plan outlines a total of $80.9 million in capital costs.
As of 2022, it is estimated that the airport contributes over $90 million to GDP annually with an estimated 507 positions directly employed by over 20 businesses at the airport.
