It’s time to clean out your closets and donate those winter coats and snowpants to keep your community warm this winter.
United Way Peterborough’s Coats for our Community Collection and Distribution will take place again this October.
This program provides much needed relief to local families as one in six children in Peterborough County lives in poverty. Families continue to deal with sharply rising costs of living and simply don’t have the means to purchase clothing to stay warm during the harsh winter months.
Anne Ondericin, Director of Philanthropy at the United Way of Peterborough & District, that while there is a still great need for children’s winter jackets and snowpants, they’ve also seen an increased need for winter coats for adult men and women, especially in sizes small and XXL.
The collection will take place at the Peterborough Vinnies on Erskine on October 15 and at the Lakefield Vinnie’s on Queen Street on October 16.
