As Cavan Monaghan mayor Scott McFadden nears the end of what has been a 12-year run in municipal politics, he says it’s “a nice time to back away” with the township in what he terms “a phenomenal position.”
Pointing to a number of achievements over the past four years such as the new Cavan Monaghan Community Centre, Mayor McFadden says the township’s focus moving forward is destined to be on continued residential and commercial development.
Reflecting on his initial venture into politics, Mayor McFadden says that decision wasn’t part of any grand plan.
Reviewing the slate of candidates for his council seat, Mayor McFadden says whatever the outcome on October 24th, township residents will be well served.
Seeking election as Cavan Monaghan mayor are former Peterborough mayor Daryl Bennett and current township deputy mayor Matthew Graham while former MP Dean Del Mastro and current Millbrook Ward councillor Ryan Huntley are running for deputy mayor.
