If you’re looking for something to do around the region this weekend, here is a list of notable events.
Saturday, Oct. 29th:
-Historic All Hallows’ Eve at Lang Pioneer Village. Discover the origins and traditions of Halloween. Featuring magic, games, fortune telling, tractor and wagon rides and more, this all-ages event is sure to get you into the Halloween spirit. Adults- $15, Students & Seniors (60+) – $10, Youths 2 to 14 Years of Age – $7, Children Under 2 Years of Age – Free, Family Pass (includes 2 Adults and up to 4 Youths) – $40
-Creepy Doll Museum at the Theatre on King. The Creepy Doll Museum will have its doors wide open (no need to book ahead, but you may need to hang tight if we reach occupancy limits) from 6:00 to 8:30pm. Tickets are $10 at the door, or pay what you can.
-Mariposa Fall Festival. People can enjoy the outdoors at Mariposa Farm Market & Mill. The festival includes pick-you-own pumpkins, a five-acre corn maze, photo opportunities, farm animals, a story walk, private campfire nights.
-“A Red Plaid Shirt” by Michael Wilmot at Buckhorn Community Centre. The BCC’s own “Hall’s Bridge Players” will be performing “A Red Plaid Shirt” by Michael Wilmot. We added a couple of more days. Give us a call and see what is available 705-657-8833. Tickets are $45 and include a salad bar, sit down roast beef dinner, dessert, tea/coffee. Cash bar.
-Fleming College Open House: The Fall Open House runs from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., with events taking place at Fleming’s Sutherland Campus in Peterborough, Frost Campus in Lindsay and at the Haliburton School of Art + Design.
Sunday, Oct. 30th:
-45th Annual Hand of Man Art & Craft Sale at the Morrow Building. Hours are 5 – 9 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Sunday.
-Pumpkinfest at Buckhorn Berry Farm. You can take a wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch, pick your own pumpkin, play on straw bales and explore corn mazes. You can visit our farm store, enjoy food truck fare, get spooked in the haunted forest, and even watch the pumpkin cannon blast off -at Pumpkinfest, there is fun for the whole family to enjoy!
-Halloween Glow Ride at B!KE. Come help us carve a Hallowe’en jack-o-lantern across the Peterborough streetscape with a parade of glowing bicycles and spooky costumes. Meet in the back alley at BIKE at 6:45 pm for a 7 pm departure. Or pick a spot along the route to watch the spectacle. Family friendly!
-Monsters Ball at Pie Eyed Monk. A Halloween party just for little Ghosts, Ghouls and Goblins! Run from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m.
