Located on a natural five-acre property overlooking Rice Lake, ZimArt and the Rice Lake Gallery has been the home of strikingly beautiful Zimbabwean Shona sculpture since 2000.
Founded by owner Fran Fearnley following a two-year stint volunteering in South Africa, she regularly returns to purchase work directly from artists as well as accommodates an artist-in-residence from Zimbabwe each year.
While thousands visit annually, Fearnley agrees ZimArt and the Rice Lake Gallery is a hidden gem, noting that most of first-time visitors are pleasantly surprised to discover an oasis in the middle of a forest.
ZimArt and the Rice Lake Gallery is located at 855 Second Line Road in Bailieboro. For more information, visit www.zimart.ca.
