Schools in the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board and Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington District School Board are again closed to in-person learning.
Both boards cite safety concerns as the reason for the closure.
CUPE workers are entering another day of strike action, as everyone awaits a decision by the Ontario Labour Relations Board on the legality of the strike that began Friday.
Board Chair Brian O’Byrne heard arguments over the course of three days including eight hours on Sunday and says he is trying to come to a decision as quickly as possible.
A daylong demonstration is also planned for Queen’s Park, as workers and supporters speak out against government legislation that imposed a contract on 55,000 provincial education workers and took away their right to strike.
