A recent traffic stop led to several criminal and provincial charges for one driver in the region.
Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP conducted the stop after noticing a vehicle with two different unauthorized plates. When they stopped the car, officers noticed signs of impairment, open liquor and numerous empty beer cans in the back seat.
The driver was arrested and is facing several charges including operation while prohibited, driving while under suspension and operation while impaired.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay and had their vehicle impounded for 45 days.
