Trent University will bestow honourary degrees upon four recipients during its 2023 convocation ceremonies in June.
Among the four are local residents Dr. Jennifer Ingram and Drew Hayden Taylor.
Dr. Ingram, a specialist in internal and geriatric medicine, will receive an honorary doctorate of science in recognition of her contributions to geriatric medicine, dementia care and the study of aging.
Curve Lake First Nation resident Taylor, will receive an honorary doctorate of letters in recognition of his award-winning career as an Indigenous playwright, journalist, filmmaker, humorist and author.
Also receiving honourary degrees will be Ontario deputy premier Christine Elliott and Master Warrant Officer Moogly J.J.E.G. Tetrault-Hamel who served for 21 years with the Canadian Armed Forces.
Trent’s convocation ceremonies will be held June 6th to 9th.
