Retired from a 45-year career as a dentist, Lakefield resident Bruce Gibson could have easily put his feet up and fully enjoyed the rest he earned.
But, to the great benefit of the United of Peterborough and District and its member agencies, he got busy, not only continuing to donate annually to the organization’s campaign but also gifting his time and talents as a campaign cabinet member who has rolled up his sleeves as a supporter of various fundraising events.
Gibson says he has dug deep for the United Way as long as he can remember, his chief motivation being its far-reaching impact.
While he doesn’t seek recognition or rewards from donating and his active involvement, Gibson acknowledges a good feeling that results.
