Orders received from area property owners has led to the planting of 12,075 native trees and shrubs this spring, many replacing foliage lost during the devastating May 2022 derecho storm.
Each year, Otonabee Conservation encourages residents to take advantage of its Tree Seedling Sales program to enhance their property, increase biodiversity and mitigate climate change impacts. Thanks to a subsidy provided by Forests Ontario, the conservation authority is able to offer a wide selection of native tree and shrub species.
Besides this program, Otonabee Conservation works with local landowners and community partners to plant trees on private and public properties.
