This Thursday marks International Overdose Awareness Day.
Beginning in 2001 in Australia, International Overdose Awareness Day has since spread around the globe.
Moms Stop the Harm Peterborough is joining in this year, hosting a memorial event at Millennium Park from 1 to 4 p.m.
The event will include stories from family members who have lost loved ones and important information about substance use.
During the lead-up to Thursday, community partners are hosting harm reduction and naloxone distribution pop-ups around the city.
Pop-ups are on Monday at Peterborough Square, at the Peterborough Public Library on Tuesday and at Peterborough Public Health on Wednesday.
