In a heartwarming reunion, the 100 Women Peterborough community celebrated their first in-person gathering since 2019.
The event, attended by dedicated women and representatives from Abbeyfield House Society, Hospice Peterborough, and Peterborough Veterinary Outreach, saw the renewal of old connections and the forging of new ones, all while focusing on philanthropy.
The highlight of the evening was a heartfelt majority vote to donate to Hospice Peterborough, an organization close to their hearts and the first-ever donation recipient in 2018. Under the community’s rules, organizations are excluded from nomination for three years, but Hospice Peterborough’s enduring commitment to providing care, comfort, and compassion for individuals and families dealing with life-threatening illness or grief has once again won the hearts of 100 Women Peterborough members.
Catia Skinner expressed the sentiment, saying, “Supporting Hospice once again is a testament to the transformative impact they bring to our community. It’s a legacy we’re proud to be a part of.”
Aimée O’Reilly, Manager of Development at Hospice Peterborough, expressed her gratitude, stating, “We’re honored that 100 Women Peterborough has chosen to support us again, marking a full-circle moment. Their renewed investment speaks volumes about the trust they place in us. Importantly, their donation will help sustain programs that aren’t government-funded, including special touches of care and grief programming. This donation truly invests in the future of quality hospice palliative care in Peterborough.”
Despite recent challenges, the energy at the gathering showcased the community’s robust and enduring spirit. With 108 active members, each contributing $100, they are set to make a collective donation of $10,800 to support Hospice Peterborough’s noble cause.
Ashburnham Funeral Home generously provided both the venue and refreshments, making the reunion seamless and memorable.
Inspired by the enthusiasm of the recent gathering, 100 Women Peterborough announced a special meeting scheduled for December 12th, inviting all members to mark their calendars for another engaging evening.
For those inspired by their philanthropic journey and eager to make a meaningful difference, 100 Women Peterborough welcomes new members who share their passion for collective giving.
