In a historic development, lacrosse is set to make its triumphant return to the Olympic stage. The International Olympic Committee gave its approval earlier this week for lacrosse’s inclusion in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. This marks the third time lacrosse will be featured in the Olympics, following appearances in 1904 and 1908.
Men’s and women’s lacrosse will be played at the games in a fast-paced, compact format called “sixes,” designed to increase accessibility and make the sport more approachable.
With our thriving and passionate lacrosse community, it’s anticipated that Peterborough will have a strong representation at the games, with top talent from our city likely to play key roles.
