Halloween should be scary but it should never prove tragic.
That’s the word from Peterborough police in advance of Tuesday night, with trick-or-treaters and drivers urged to be mindful of one another.
Constable Tim Fish says excited kids often forget safety rules, meaning motorists have to be their eyes and ears by exercising extra caution when driving.
Meanwhile, while incidents of tampered candy are very rare, Constable Fish says it’s best to leaving nothing to chance.
While urging drivers to be extra cautious, Constable Fish says it’s vital that trick-or-treaters do all they can to be seen clearly at night.
