A 33-year-old Peterborough woman has been charged after an incident at the Quaker Foods City Square outdoor rink on Saturday night.
At around 10:30 pm, officers responded to a call about a woman smashing lights with a hatchet. Along with K9 Gryphon, police arrived on scene and found the woman but could not see her hands to know if she still had a weapon on her, prompting one officer to draw their taser, without discharging it, while Gryphon maintained a bark and hold.
Officers confirmed she had no weapon in hand, re-holstered their weapon, and arrested her.
A search of the suspect found a knife and a driver’s license that wasn’t hers, while the hatchet was also located nearby.
