
In a remarkable display of community support, the annual Loonies on the Street shattered previous fundraising records, bringing in over $170,000 in donations for Kawartha Food Share.
Kawartha Food Share is a community-driven organization committed to alleviating hunger; through food distribution programs and partnerships with local businesses, they strive to ensure that everyone in the community has access to nutritious meals.
The Loonies event transformed downtown Peterborough into a bustling hub of generosity, as volunteers with buckets took donations from passing motorists. Business leaders, politicians and community members also stopped by the event, to not only make donations but to lend a helping hand as well.
After finding out the total raised, KFS General Manager Ashlee Aitken expressed her surprise and gratitude
