With lacrosse season right around the corner, the Peterborough Jr. A Lakers are looking for billet families to host players during the upcoming season.
Billets are needed from the end of May until the season wraps up, which the Lakers are hoping is deep into the summer as they look to have a long playoff run this year.
Billet families play a crucial role in the success and well-being of players during their season, providing them a home away from home while offering a supportive and stable environment that enables them to focus on their athletic pursuits. This support system is especially vital for young players who may be living away from their families for the first time, helping them navigate the challenges of being away from home.
Beyond offering a comfortable place to stay, these families become a crucial part of the players’ journey, providing stability and a sense of belonging in an unfamiliar city.
Anyone who is interested in hosting a player is being asked to contact Lakers Assistant Coach Jeff Ralph by emailing jeff_ralph@kprdsb.ca.
The Jr. A Lakers will kickoff their 2024 campaign on May 24th at home against the Six Nations Arrows.
