A suspicious package left on a sidewalk in a Peterborough neighbourhood Wednesday afternoon caused some concern in the area of Florence Drive and Chandler Crescent.
The Durham Regional Police Bomb Squad was called in to assess the package as part of the investigation, and after it was determined to be harmless, it was removed.
During the operation, the area was closed from traffic and pedestrians for several hours and residents were advised to remain indoors as a precaution.
The Peterborough Police Service expressed gratitude to the neighborhood for their patience and cooperation during the incident.
