The Art Gallery of Peterborough is marking a major milestone this year.
On March 15th, 1974, the Crescent Street gallery was incorporated as a charitable organization “to preserve, maintain, exhibit and display works of artistic interest.”
Now 50 years on, the gallery has done that and then some, according to Debby Keating, the president of gallery board, who notes “In addition to preserving the past through our collection, we are providing a space to tell stories and share ideas.”
“The board sees this year as an opportunity to recommit ourselves to the future of the gallery,” she adds.
On Friday (March 15th), upcoming events to mark the gallery’s 50th anniversary will be announced.
