The Easter long weekend will bring with it a shutdown of some City of Peterborough services and facilities.
Curbside collection of garbage, recycling and organic waste will not take place on Friday, March 31st, moving to Monday April 1st for those who normally receive pickup on Friday.
The City-County landfill and the Household Hazardous Waste Depot will be closed Good Friday but both will be open Saturday starting at 8 a.m.
Peterborough City Hall be closed Good Friday and Easter Monday, and the Peterborough Public Library will be closed Friday through Monday.
The Sport and Wellness Centre will operate on reduced hours on Good Friday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. but will be open regular hours on the weekend and on Easter Monday.
Peterborough Transit will operate Good Friday on a holiday service schedule, returning to its regular schedule through the weekend. Visit www.peterborough.ca/transit for schedules.
The social services office on Charlotte Street will be closed both Good Friday and Easter Monday but the emergency shelter will be open and can be reached at 705-926-0096.
PTBO Today.ca will not update news on Good Friday, resuming regular coverage on Saturday.
