For more than a century, 4-H Ontario has developed countless youths, aged six to 21, as leaders within their communities via hands-in projects and mentorship.
4-H started primarily as an agricultural and life skills provider for young people living in rural areas. While those are still focuses of the organization, she says 4-H offerings have been broadened with time, resulting in broader appeal for a wide range of participants.
Brianna Troup, a 4-H Hastings alumnus now living in Little Britain, has kept her hand in the organization, serving as a volunteer with the Kawartha Lakes-Haliburton 4-H Association.
