When it comes to local multi-generational farms, Shelter Valley Farms and, by extension, McQuaid’s Country Market, is a great example of the family that works together, reaps huge rewards together.
On the family farm near Omemee, Mike and Sara McQuaid are the third-generation that has tended to its beef cattle and other products. Now their 22-year-old son Cody represents the farm’s fourth generation – continuing a generational tradition started in 1949 by Mike’s grandfather and then carried on by his uncle.
