The Peterborough Children’s Water Festival is returning to the Riverview Park and Zoo.
Set for May 28th and 29th, the annual event will again see elementary schoolchildren celebrate water and their relationship with it via a number of activities.
Karen O’Krafka of Peterborough GreenUP is the festival’s program coordinator. She notes two questions will anchor what students will take away from the festival.
O’Krafka says the festival is part of a larger network of similar events held across Ontario
A total of 36 activity centres will keep students thinking all things water throughout the day.
The festival has welcomed 30,388 elementary students, and 6,684 teachers and parent helpers, since 2002. This year’s festival will see 1,300 students in Grades 2 to 5 participate over the two days.
