Arts and nature remain in perfect harmony in Balieboro, thanks in no small way to Miriam Davidson.
Rice Lake Arts is now open at the site of what was the ZimArt Rice Lake Gallery, Canada’s only outdoor gallery of Zimbabwean Shona sculpture that closed in 2023 after a 23-year run.
Davidson, who sculpted and participated in workshops there for years, bought the property in March and rebranded it as Rice Lake Arts. Offering a full slate of workshops and live music performances scheduled, a preview of what’s ahead was provided Sunday (May 26th) at a very well attended open house.
Davidson says while the property is familiar to many, Rice Lake Arts’ focus is decidedly different than that of its predecessor.
Davidson adds fostering connections between art and nature is central to Rice Lake Arts’ mission.
