Port Hope Police say they’ve arrested Kelly-Anne Jennings, a teacher at St. Anthony’s Catholic School, for alleged sexual assault and other sexual offences.
According to police, an incident was reported on August 21st, and Jennings was arrested on August 29th. While conducting their investigation, the Criminal Investigation Branch say they began to identify additional victims that had previously attended the school. Police reported that after conducting interviews, officers applied for and were granted several warrants to search for supporting evidence.
Those search warrants led to the re-arrest of Jennings on September 4th, with sixteen more charges being laid in connection with three additional youth who police say were identified as former students of the accused.
Jennings now faces a list of charges that include the original sexual assault and sexual interference charges plus the following new charges:
3 x CC 171.1(1)(b) distributes sexually explicit material to a person under 16 years of age
7 x CC 172.1(1)(b) luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication
2 x CC 163.1(4.1) access any child pornography
2 x CC 152 invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age
2 x CC 163.1(2) makes, prints, publishes or possesses for the purpose of publication any child pornography
None of these of charges have been proven in court.
