The Peterborough Police Service is investigating a residential break-in that resulted in the theft of a firearm and other valuables.
Authorities believe the break-in took place between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. at a home in the area of Homeward Avenue and Albertus Avenue.
Among the stolen items was a Tavor X95 assault rifle, along with 200 rounds of ammunition. The police have released a stock image of the firearm to assist in its identification.
In addition to the firearm, approximately $20,000 in jewelry and $1,500 in tools were also reported missing.
The police are urging anyone with information related to the break-in or the whereabouts of the stolen items to come forward.
