The Coalition to Save Bonnerworth Park will once again have quite a presence outside Peterborough City Hall.
The group, which contends a lack of transparency, conflict of interest, missing information and no meaningful community consultation mars the City’s plan to redevelop the park for 14 pickleball courts, will gather at 5:30 p.m. Monday to present a petition signed be more that 5,100 people. It is hoped the petition can be presented directly to Mayor Jeff Leal.
In a release, Save Bonnerworth Park questions the redevelopment’s $5 million cost at a time when more pressing city issues, such as homelessness and infrastructure deficiencies, will be impacted due to 2025 budget restraints.
