Trent University’s Head of the Trent Regatta will again bring students, alumni and the community together this weekend.
The longest-running alumni event in the university’s history is marking 53 years. While the Peterborough Rowing Club-hosted regatta is the centre piece, alumni events and varsity athletic games are also scheduled with admission to most all events.

Trent vice-president Julie Davis responsible for external relations and development, says there’s more focus this year on family fun.
With the Head of the Trent being staged against the backdrop of similar events that have gotten out of control, Davis says working closely with community partners is a priority in keeping everyone safe.
Davis says planning for the event and its associated logistics is a lengthy process.
Of note, a recent economic impact study shows that Trent’s contribution to local tourism is in excess of $35 million annually.
